KickStart is committed to protecting the privacy of all who engage with our work. This policy covers our Donor Privacy Policy and our practices for handling data collected through digital advertising and lead generation.

DONOR INFORMATION

KickStart collects and maintains the following types of donor information when it is voluntarily provided to us:

• Contact information such as name, address, telephone number and e-mail address
• Giving information
• Information on events attended, publications received and special requests for program information
• Information provided by the donor in the form of comments and suggestions

This confidential information is kept on file for IRS purposes. It is also used to analyze overall giving patterns in order to make more accurate budget projections, as well as to understand donors’ interests in our mission and to update them on the organization’s plans and activities. This information is shared with staff, board members, volunteers and consultants only on a confidential and need-to-know basis.

LIST SHARING
-KickStart does not sell, rent, trade or share its donor list with any other organization.
-KickStart never sends out mailings on behalf of other organizations.

DISCONTINUING CONTACT UPON REQUEST
It is the policy of KickStart to communicate with donors according to their expressed preferences whenever possible. KickStart will discontinue or change the method used to contact any person upon that person’s oral or written request directed to the organization, its professional fundraiser, or other agent.

KickStart shall maintain a record of all requests by persons who indicate to KickStart, its professional fundraiser, or other agents, that they do not wish to be contacted by or on behalf of KickStart.

This policy does not prohibit contact by an individual or group voluntarily soliciting on behalf of KickStart, even if the person being contacted has requested to be placed on the “do not contact list.”

Upon a person’s (or a person’s authorized representative’s) request that KickStart discontinue further contacts, the person’s name and address will be promptly modified in KickStart’s donor database to ensure that no further contact is made with the person.
KickStart will also take steps to ensure that no further contact is made with the individual and that the person’s name is removed from any external databases or records under KickStart’s control.

Permanent Record: KickStart will maintain an electronic record of all requests for discontinuance of contacts, effective with the adoption of this policy by KickStart’s board of directors. Oral requests will be noted in writing by the staff of KickStart and then permanently recorded in the electronic donor database. The records of persons who have made such a request will be maintained by KickStart to the extent necessary for legal or liability purposes.

LEAD GENERATION AND DIGITAL ADVERTISING

KickStart International runs lead generation ads on social media and digital advertising platforms — including LinkedIn, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), and Google — to connect with farmers, agricultural professionals, and others interested in learning more about affordable irrigation options.

When you submit information through a platform lead generation form — such as a LinkedIn Lead Gen Form, a Meta instant form, or a Google lead form — KickStart may collect your name, email address, phone number, job title, location, and other details you choose to provide. This information is used to:

• Follow up with information about KickStart’s MoneyMaker irrigation pumps and related products
• Respond to inquiries about purchasing, distributing, or partnering with KickStart
• Send relevant updates about irrigation access, agricultural resources, and KickStart programs, where you have indicated interest
• Analyze the performance of our advertising campaigns on an aggregated, anonymized basis

Your information is stored securely and accessed only by KickStart staff on a need-to-know basis. We do not sell, rent, or share this data with third parties for marketing purposes.

You may opt out of further contact at any time by replying to any message from KickStart or by contacting us directly. Requests to discontinue contact are handled in accordance with our donor and contact policy above.

Residents of the European Union or other jurisdictions with applicable data protection laws may have additional rights regarding their personal data, including rights of access, correction, and deletion. To exercise these rights, please contact us directly.
