Sarah Marston serves as Director of Communications for KickStart International, where she leads global communications and social media strategy to elevate the organization’s work with smallholder farmers across Sub-Saharan Africa. In this role, she shapes storytelling, media engagement, and digital strategy to strengthen visibility, deepen audience engagement, and support organizational growth.
Sarah brings more than 20 years of experience in strategic communications for mission-driven organizations. Prior to joining KickStart, she served as Director of Media and Engagement at Accion, where she led global media strategy and thought leadership initiatives focused on financial inclusion. She also held roles as Director of Communications at the University of Maryland’s Office of International Affairs and at Friends of the Global Fight Against AIDS, Tuberculosis & Malaria, where she developed advocacy campaigns and communications strategies to engage policymakers and expand global health funding. Earlier in her career, she worked as the press officer at Harvard Law School and as a journalist at The Washington Post.
She holds a master’s in public management and dual bachelor’s degrees in journalism and graphic design from the University of Maryland.
