John Kinaga
Director of Programs and Partnerships - Africa
Nairobi, Kenya
John has been with KickStart since 1997, first as Project Manager for a highly successful USAID funded initiative to create agri-enterprises and jobs in rural Kenya, then later as Head of Human Resources and Administration.

Starting in 2005, Kinaga has been in charge of KickStart’s Global Institutional Partnerships program, building it from scratch, now traveling extensively and supplying clients in over 20 African countries and elsewhere with Agricultural Water Management (AWM) solutions.

His long and successful career at KickStart was preceded by 13 years service with the Kenyan Ministry of Agriculture working on agricultural mechanization, rural technology development, and a 2-year secondment to FAO on rural oilseed production and processing. John’s deep knowledge of smallholder farmers’ circumstances and of government protocols is invaluable in shaping our policies for expansion into new countries. John Kinaga is an Agricultural Engineer and has a MSc. in Rural Engineering from Cranfield University in the UK.
